Creative Workshops & Painting demos

I run hourly, one-to-one lessons and small-group workshops from my studio at The Antique Village

One-to-one lessons are focused on discovering or rediscovering the individual’s creative intensions and possibly discover their preferred working practice. They include an Introduction to drawing techniques, linear & tonal perspective, figure-drawing and portraiture, Landscape painting & drawing, composition, colour theory, still life and negative painting. I also off GCSE portfolio support.

At my Small workshops at The Antique Village and larger workshops at The White Room Creative Space I offer an informal day of discovery for beginners and those with some experience in painting & drawing with workshops that include Landscape painting, Seascape painting, painting with a limited palette, painting light and atmosphere, and tonal perspective. We will look at developing paintings from photographs and continuous sketching. We will also attempt some plain air sketching & painting.

As well as my teaching, I am often invited to do Art talks and demonstrations at regional Art groups. Here I will often talk about my influences, my working practice and then show the audience the process of creating a painting from sketch to (hopefully) finished piece.
